I am Calypso, goddess of the sea. The other day the great wonderer Odysseus washed up on

my island of Ogygia . I think I might love him. I want to make him my husband. Odysseus denied me, can’t

he see that I love him? He called me more beautiful then his wife Penelope. Why wont he be my husband?

He could be immortal and could stay with me forever. He says he has to get back to his island of Ithica,

whats so great about that island anyways?! I know he wants to get back to Penelope. He even said I was

more beautiful then her. I’m going to keep him here. He isn’t allowed to leave, ever. Today me and

Odysseus did wonderful things. I love living my life with him. He is the best person anyone could ask for. I

cant wait for him to finally accept my offer and become my husband. Seven years have past, Odysseus is

still here. We love each other. We would never leave each other. I think he really likes it here. Zeus just

sent his messenger god Hermes down to us and is making me release him. I don’t want to release him. I

love him. We have done so much together. We even have children together! I cant believe he is going back

to his wife. He is very unfaithful.
